Hi everyone, The latest hi5 release is on its way out. It's currently out to about 10% of our users, and we're hoping to get it out to everyone by the end of the week. Here's a summary of new features, there are quite a few: - Tagging Friends' Photos -- you can tag people in your friends' photos now.
- Japanese language
- Top Friends friend update and email notification -- when you add someone new to your Top Friends
- New Homepage UI -- a new look for the homepage including a brand new Applications Menu with quick links into your profile pages.
- Requests & Notifications in Message Center -- manage your friend requests, photo comments, profile comments, and mail in the same place.
- Friends-only profiles -- if you've set your privacy to only friends can view my profile, other users will ony be able to see a limited profile with your photo, name, age, and location. In our next release, we'll extend this to blocked users as well.
- Our Comments -- profile comments now have a new link 'view comments with <name>', that will take you to a view of just the comments you've sent each other, and you'll be able to give more comments from there.
- New Friend Suggestions module UI - friend suggestions module on the homepage has a new look, which hopefully makes it clearer that you're sending a friend request, and lets you act on one request at a time.
- Show more albums on profile pages (6) -- up to 6 albums will show on profile pages
- Delete from sent messages -- finally! we're going to release this slowly, like we did for multi-delete, starting with people with the most friends
- Bulk inbox for messages from non-friends -- only messages from friends will go to your inbox from now on.
- Privacy page in message center -- a new privacy page in the message center allows you to manage message, friend request, profile comment, and photo comment privacy setting right from the message center.
- User spam reporting -- for messages, profile comments, friend requests, and photo comments in the message center
- Birthday notices on homepage -- see birthdays for friends coming up in the next week. in a future release we'll also turn the email notifications back on.
- Profile HTML cleanup is back -- this should fix a lot of broken profile problems we've had over the last week, and will also prevent spam profile comments from removing the delete button.
