now back to our regularly scheduled program ...
What do people want to know about me? The short answer to that is, Nothing. So I'll get the background stuff out of the way quickly.
I was born the son of a sharecropper in the rural south.... Well, not really. I was born in Winston-Salem but moved to Philly circa 1977. My education started soon after at Greene Street Friends and ended at Penn Charter in 1991. As most of those who listen to the show know I attended Hampton University.
While at HU, I worked at the campus radio station (WHOV) as a football and basketball commentator for five years. I graduated from Hampton in 1995 (ON TIME!) and like most of my classmates I thought that the world (and a lucrative job) was waiting for me at the other end of the stage. What my classmates and I soon found out is that jobs don't come for you, but the real world does. And when she finds you she's -- well-- she's a beeeaoch! So I was unemployed for a few months before I got a gig covering Hampton Football for the USA Today web site. Although it sounds great, it didn't pay much. So I needed another job and since I couldn't do the service industry thing, there was only one other area for a recent college graduate- retail! I worked at the Mecca of retail "The Gap" where I applied my degree in Mass Media Arts to the fitting rooms and the denim wall.
A few months later i got a gig with Hampton (96-98). I served as the Women's Sports Information Director. After two years I took a shot at the big time, moving on to UConn...
After spending a year of my life in solitary confinement in Storrs, CT at the University of Connecticut, i ran back home to start from scratch... Quarter life crisis is no fun!
>>>>>>> fast forward 2005... I don't live with moms, lol... Still working with Dave at AOD ( www.thebigtalker.net ), trying to change the face of talk radio (Keep an eye out for our events) it's hard work but with your help, we are getting there...

I'm also in my forth year as producer of the "Mornings with Mary" program, doing the morning thing is tough ... but it's a great experience...
