Prepare for me my Lord and Teacher -
What you have for me in store,
This journey of life I am to travel -
To wherever it takes me, whatever door.

I seek in prayer a greater awareness -
To spread the message I have been told;
To give freely and not ask in return -
For my very own self to you I owe.

Grace me with a wider vision -
To see the beauty that surrounds me,
To cherish life each new day -
And all the wonders that I see.

To see and feel each days sunlight -
In Winter time as well as Spring,
To see the flowers as they blossom;
To hear the song the songbirds sing.

Instill within me a deeper yearning -
It is your message that I share,
To those with willing and open hearts -
for I'll take them unto my care.

That I may be a worthy servant -
In positive ways that others need,
To follow in your every footstep -
Allowing them to be in front of me.

That if they should fall and stumble -
If the journey wears them down,
That I can pick them up a bit -
For your way is on holy ground.

Grace me with an open mind -
For your wisdom I will abide,
And call upon your Holy Spirit -
Upon your Holy Spirit I will rely.

To face hardships when they come -
So as not to run or turn away;
But to let your will grow within me -
When each night I kneel to pray.

Open my ears more so that I can listen -
Much more than what I speak;
That I may proclaim by my example -
This love within my heart so deep.

Fill my heart Lord with deep compassion -
For those hurting and depressed,
That I may bring them some small comfort -
So they will know that they are blessed!

Enhance my search for new beginnings -
Like a sunrise that graces each new day,
And I will give a smile to others -
To brighten their life in whatever way!

Gift my eyes Lord, to especially trust -
That no matter how big or small the part,
That I made a difference at this journey's end,
Even if . . . I only touched one person's heart!
